How to Change the G.O.A.T Mode in Your Ford Bronco

The Ford Bronco is known for its rugged capabilities, especially when it comes to off-road driving (watch our video on the Bronco Off-Roadeo here). One of the standout features that come on both the full-size Bronco along with the Bronco Sport is called G.O.A.T. Mode, or Goes Over Any Terrain. These modes allow you to easily switch between different driving settings to ensure your vehicle is best equipped for the conditions.  

Changing the G.O.A.T. Mode on your vehicle is easy! With just a couple simple steps, you’ll be ready to tackle any off-road challenge. Watch the video below or keep reading for step-by-step instructions. 

How to Change the G.O.A.T. Mode 

1. Start the Vehicle: Make sure the vehicle is ON and in Park. 
2. Locate the G.O.A.T. Mode Dial: You can find the dial below the gear shifter on the center console. It is circular and has the words “G.O.A.T. Modes” written on it. 
3. Turn the Dial to Select Your Desired Mode: Now, you just turn the dial to get what drive mode you want. You can see what drive mode you’re in by looking at the driver information screen when turning the dial.  

Types of Drive Modes 

There are 8 different drive modes throughout the Bronco lineup depending on trim. They are the following: 

• Normal: Default setting when you turn on the vehicle for everyday driving. 

• Slippery: Used on surfaces covered in snow, ice, or other slipper material. Lowers throttle response and optimizes shifting. 

• Eco: Provides maximum fuel efficiency for efficient driving and increased range. 

• Sport: Increases accelerator pedal response and provides improved handling for a sporty driving feel. 

• Sand: For off-roading on soft or dry sand, engages four-wheel drive lock. 

• Mud: For off-roading on muddy, rutty, or uneven surfaced; engaged four-wheel drive lock. 

• Rock Crawl: Engages four-wheel drive lock and the rear differential lock feature for optimum rock-climbing off-road capability. 

• Baja: Available on Bronco Badlands, Wildtrak, and First Edition models. For driving on loose terrain and sand. Optimizes suspension.
